Our virtual professional learning offerings are taught by our expert instructors, offering the same high-quality experience that teachers expect from Wilson. This exciting shift to remote workshops offers enhanced features that promote interactive learning, including breakout sessions and other elements to address adult learning principles.

Workshop participants also gain access to the corresponding program’s online learning community in Wilson Academy®, where they can view video demonstrations, resources, tips, and other supports throughout the year.

 

Registration Information

  • Registration with payment is required before the event and is processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Tuition includes access to training handouts.
  • Tuition is fully refundable with notification up to three days prior to the event date. Cancellation within three days prior to the event will be credited toward future professional learning within 12 months.
  • This training will NOT be recorded. The registrant must attend the live video conference event and then finish a course assessment within a month in order to be credited with successful completion.
  • A confirmation email will be sent with event details.

While we make every effort to conduct professional learning events on the dates and locations advertised, they are subject to change without prior notice. Wilson reserves the right to change or cancel a professional learning event due to low enrollment or factors beyond our control. We will attempt to notify registrants to limit customer inconvenience but we are not liable for any expenses incurred.

Just Words® Virtual Launch Workshop (instructor-led) provides the practice and guidance needed to effectively begin teaching the Just Words curriculum. Led by a skilled instructor, this interactive remote workshop addresses: the principles of instruction; the skills taught, including word study, vocabulary, high-frequency words, spelling, and fluency; appropriate identification and grouping of students; development of the daily learning plan; and practice of lesson activities.

Fundations® Level 3 Virtual Launch Workshop (instructor-led) provide the practice and guidance needed to effectively begin teaching the Fundations curriculum. This highly interactive remote workshop was developed with extensive participant input during the spring/early summer of 2020. It was designed to maintain participation and motivation for optimal learning, with strategically placed breaks and an extended lunch.?Additionally, the workshop design allows for teacher input and active engagement via activities and discussions throughout each session.

Fundations® Level 2 Virtual Launch Workshop (instructor-led) provides the practice and guidance needed to effectively begin teaching the Fundations curriculum for the selected workshop Level. Led by a skilled instructor, each interactive remote workshop addresses: the principles of instruction; the skills taught in the selected Fundations Level, including phonemic awareness, phonics and word study, vocabulary, high-frequency words, fluency, comprehension, handwriting, spelling, and punctuation; development of the daily learning plan; and practice of lesson activity procedures.

Wilson Reading System® (WRS) Introductory Course (virtual, instructor-led) provides an overview of the Wilson Reading System Fourth Edition curriculum and serves as the prerequisite for WRS Level I Certification, which makes one eligible for the Wilson® Dyslexia Practitioner (W.D.P.) credential. Currently offered in a virtual instructor-led format, this course addresses: the process of identifying appropriate students; WRS principles of instruction; and an introduction to the systematic, explicit, and integrated instruction in phonology, morphology, and orthography.
